Layer 1 blockchain Tezos actuated a redesign called Kathmandu, adding new scaling capacities.
The Kathmandu redesign went live on the Tezos confirmation of-stake mainnet at block 2,736,129 on Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET, as per the Tezos group.
This was the eleventh update for Tezos since its beginning in 2018, and one that guarantees potential versatility upgrades.
As per the update’s proper proposition, it has added the possibility to help off-chain calculation by means of Layer 2 arrangements like hopeful roll-ups, and smoothed out the block approval process for better conditional throughput. Besides, the givers said that Kathmandu presented a super durable testnet for exploring different avenues regarding new highlights, and further developed haphazardness in how the mainnet picks delegates for upgraded security, among other convention enhancements.
Kathmandu was proposed in July by Tezos benefactors and improvement firms Itinerant Labs, Marigold, TriliTech, Oxhead Alpha, Tarides, DaiLambda and Functori and Tweag. It was subsequently endorsed by the local area through an on-chain administration process.
